One day, a long long long long long time ago in Athens a Duke called Thesius was going too get married in one day. Thesius had a close friend who was a very important man called Egeus who had a daughter called hermia, Hermia was betrothed (the person to who one is engaged) to a handsome man called Demetrius however Hermia loved a man called Lysander. One day in the market place Hermia met a girl called Helena who said to Hermia, "I wish Demetrius loved me, he dosn't care a thing in the world about me, oh Hermia, you are so very lucky!" "Lucky," cried Hermia "Demetrius dosn't care a thing in the world about anyone exept his self! And also, my soulmate is Lysander. Oh yeah and we have a secret" Helena said "I think you are wrong about Demetrius but that is your opinion sooooo yeah, see ya. Wait a sec, You said you had a secret, whatta is it!? Hermia paused and sighed, "Me and Lysander are running away into the forest too get married, I'm soooo ecxited!" As Hermia left, Helena smiled and thought if she told Demetrius about Hermia and Lysander then Demetrius would love her.
At the dead of night, Hermia and Lysander ran into the forest and as they did, Helena told Demetrius but as he heard that he ran straight too the forest with Helena chasing after him crying "B-b-but Demetrius, I loooooove you!" But none of them Knew that the forest was inhabited with faeries. Just as everyone had entered the forest the fairy king(Oberon) and fairy queen(Titania) were having a fight over a page boy because Oberon is jelous of Titania because she is paying more attention to the page boy than him. Oberon walked away and called his elf servant (Puck) to find him a magical flower called love-in-idleness and if you sprinkle the pollen in someones eye they shall fall in love with the first living creature. At the same time, a group of people were rehearsing a play and when Puck came across them, he turned an actor called Nick Bottom's head into a donkey for Titania to fall in love with. As Puck retreived the flower and gave it too Oberon. Oberon cackled and flew to Titania. He sprinkled the pollen in Titania's eyes and she drifted off to sleep.
After, Puck told Oberon about Nick Bottom and they transported him too Titania. After, he noticed Helena chasing after Demetrius and didn't like the way Demetrius spoke to Helena so he told Puck to sprinkle the pollen into Demetrius's eyes.As Puck was searching, he found Lysander and Helena sleeping and mistaked Lysander for Demetreus.
